A study on the economic sector of sailing sector.

The objective is to revitalize and reinforce the economic activity linked to the marina while improving the port’s accessibility and the feasibility of the setting up of a ‘centre of excellence’ for the marine professionals.

To set up a centre of regional and euro-regional reference for jobs and skills linked to the sailing sector will contribute to identify the sector of the Boating as a crossborder source of innovation and of attractivity for the Dunkirk area.

To upgrade the Grand Large Port defence system against the swell.

The feasibility study on the Grand Large port protection Port and improvement of accessibility, realized by Syndicat Mixte Dunkerque Neptune, should investigate the technical and financial feasibility, for Dunkirk Greater Council, of a more important protection in order to shelter a larger harbour area. The aim is to reassure the marina and to increase the amount of water areas which could be exploited. This investment will create more sheltered marinas which meet the environmental standards required, whilst redeveloping areas dedicated to ship chandlers activity.
