One of the central items within the Transcoast project is the development of a “Transcoast economic model”. This model has to be developed together with all Transcoast partners and aims at bringing into vision the social economic effects of all separate project plans. The procedure for the call for tenders has started end 2011 and on 10 January 2012 the Lead Partner (Provincie Zeeland, the Netherlands) has been able to commission the development, testing/review and implementation of the model to ZKA Consultants & Planners. The first steps in the process will be presented to the Transcoast partners on 24 April 2012 at the partner meeting in Blankenberge. In the year 2013 also some extra international meetings will be arranged in the 2Seas area, where also external persons could take note of the model and its functioning. The project could grow into a very interesting measuring instrument for all areas that borders on coastal areas where a transformation has taken place. So, later on the model will not be related to Transcoast areas, but it could be used for the whole 2Seas programme area.
Information about the developments will always be published on the Transcoast website (www.transcoastproject.com) or you can retrieve it from the project manager of Transcoast, Mr Toon Peters (a.peters@zeeland.nl) or the project manager of ZKA Consultants & Planners in Breda (the Netherlands), Mr Ronald Haagen (r.haagen@zka.nl).
