The following actions will be implemented to ensure an effective communication and transfer of the objectives and achievements of the project
- Activity leader Zeeland will prepare a detailed communication strategy for the project in consultation with all partners.
- A website is developed at the start of the project that will be regularly updated. It will present aims, activities and results of the project and highlight the targeted port areas in transition. The website will develop as the (intermediate) results of the project become available. The site will also have a restricted access section that serves as an internal communication and documentation platform for the whole partnership and the three Joint Activity Teams.
- Two cross-border conferences will be organised, for an audience of professionals, politicians and policy makers in regeneration and transformation of ports and coastal zones in the 2 Seas area and representatives of the EU level. The kick-off conference, hosted by Zeeland, will present the project objectives and activities, the targeted transformation sites and the general context and latest developments in regeneration of ports areas. The final conference, hosted jointly by the 3 UK partners, is dedicated to the results achieved through cross border cooperation, zooming in on the contributions made to the various partners port transformation programmes and presenting the insights and approaches TRANSCOAST has to offer to the professional community in this field.
- Activity leader Zeeland will produce a compendium of tools, approaches and guidance for transformation of ports/coastal areas that have emerged as a result of the work of the three Joint Activity Teams, based on the Synthesis and Evaluation reports delivered by each JAT. This will be officially presented at the final conference.
- Partners actively disseminate the project activities and findings to other public authorities, marina operators and businesses in their regional networks. The aim is to transfer the experiences gained to other port transformation projects, and to trigger actors to develop further (business) initiatives building on the investments and measures developed by TRANSCOAST (for instance setting up businesses in transformed areas, tourism and regional branding initiatives). The partners host information sessions in their region (jointly where there are more partners from the same region), bilateral meetings upon demand and regional publicity.
- Publicity. Transcoast newsletters will be released at regular intervals. The partnership will disseminate the project at suitable events (EU, national, regional) and events of the 2 Seas programme. Partners will create publicity through press releases, articles and appearances in dedicated media at milestone moments of project implementation.
Main aims:
The communication and dissemination actions of the project will build on the outputs delivered by the three Activities of the project and serve to get maximum attention for their achievements. This activity has the following aims:
- to distribute information and raise awareness of the project aims, activities and outputs
- to transfer the experiences and tools and approaches gained during the project to other actors in charge of transforming port and coastal areas
- to trigger spin off activities by local marina operators, entrepreneurs and other actors that capitalise and build on the investments and activities realised by TRANSCOAST.
Expected results:

- 1 Website launched and regularly updated
- 2 Conferences organised
- 1 compendium of tools and approaches for transforming ports and coastal areas produced
- 8 regional dissemination sessions organised (2 per country/region represented)
